Recovering Uploaded Clips
Deleted clips that were posted to your profile or synced to Medal Cloud are stored in the Recently Deleted album for up to 30 days.
To access this album:
- Open your Medal Desktop app.
- Click the Albums button on the left bar.
- Select Recently Deleted.
Once located, you can restore clips back to your library:
- Select the desired clip.
- Click Restore.
This feature is available only for clips uploaded as Cloud Synced or Public/Unlisted Posts. It does not apply to Private Links.
Recovering Local Clips
Clips deleted from local storage can be restored if the Recycle Bin feature is enabled. Otherwise, recovery is not possible.
The Recycle Bin setting can be enabled in:
- Medal Settings > Cloud & Posts > Use Recycle Bin
Using the Recycle Bin
When enabled, deleted clips are sent to your system’s Recycle Bin:
- Navigate to your system’s Recycle Bin.
- Right-click the file you want to restore.
- Select Restore.
The file will return to its original location before deletion. For more information, visit this guide.
Restored clips will not automatically appear in the app's library. You must re-import them manually as new clips.
Auto-Delete Feature
Medal’s Free Up Space feature automatically removes older clips when a storage limit is reached. Ensure critical clips are backed up to the cloud to prevent loss.
