TABLE OF CONTENTS

Medal running more than once

Sometimes, Medal can run more than once on your computer, which can occur if multiple people use the same machine under different Windows user accounts. The best thing to do is simply completely restart your computer. Shut it down completely and launch your computer profile.

For Multiple Windows Users

  • Log in to each Windows user that has Medal installed. Right-click Medal and select Quit in the system tray. Can’t find it?
  • Once finished, log back into your Windows user and try running Medal to see if the warning goes away.
  • The best and simple solution is to restart your computer completely:
    • Shut down your computer completely.
    • Restart your computer and log into your primary Windows user account.
    • Launch the Medal app and see if the error persists.

For Stuck Background Processes

If you’re the only person using Medal, you may have some background processes that got stuck along the way.

  • Completely quit Medal by right-clicking the Medal icon in the system tray and selecting "Quit." If you can't find it, check hidden icons.
  • Open Task Manager and locate any processes named "Medal."
  • Right-click each Medal process and select "End Task."

After ensuring all Medal processes are closed, start Medal again and see if the error is resolved. If not, proceed to the next solution.

Run Medal as Administrator

  • Navigate to your Desktop and locate the Medal application.
  • Right-click the Medal icon and select "Run as administrator."

Medal doesn’t have access

Sometimes, Windows Defender or other antivirus software can prevent Medal from saving or accessing files.

After whitelisting Medal, restart the app and check if the error is resolved. If it's still the same, you may want to Purge Medal for a clean installation
