Restart Medal
Session Expired or Medal Unresponsive
- "Your session has expired, and you will experience issues until you restart Medal." Restart Medal
- "Medal is already running but may have become unresponsive. If you are experiencing issues, try restarting." Fix Unresponsive Medal App
Update or re-install Required
Software Updates Needed
- "To ensure your app has the latest stable version, click here to learn how to manually update Medal."
- "An update to Microsoft .NET Framework is required to start recording." Update .NET Framework
- "Windows is missing Windows Media Pack. Please install to start recording." Install Windows Media Pack
- You can also try purging Medal for a clean installation.
Repair or Administrative Action
- "Necessary files to record are missing from your computer or are inaccessible. Please run Repair Mode or run as Administrator." Run Medal in Repair Mode
- "Something went wrong! Please run Repair Mode or contact support." Contact Medal Support
Disk Space Management
- "Recording is disabled, clear up space on disk to continue recording." Freeing Up Disk Space
- "Your disk storage is full, clear space for Medal to continue operating normally." Manage Disk Storage
Permission and Access Issues
- "Medal requires your permission to start recording." Granting Recording Permissions
- "Windows Controlled Folder Access is enabled and will cause major issues unless you allow Medal as an app." Configure Controlled Folder Access
Technical Failures and Encoding Issues
- "Uh oh! Looks like we're having trouble uploading your clip! Check to make sure your post meets our Community Standards and try uploading again." Troubleshoot Upload Issues
- "Medal had to use CPU encoding for recording." Fix Encoding Issues
Server or API Problems
- "We're currently experiencing server issues. Things might not work as expected." Medal Server Status
