In order for Medal to start recording to take clips, the Medal software requires Windows Media Pack/Windows Media Player to be installed and active. This issue can happen on both Windows 10 N and Windows 10.
If you are on Windows 10 N, you will need to download and install Windows Media Feature Pack.
If you are on Windows 10, you will need to download and install Windows Media Player.

If you are unsure if you running Windows 10 or Windows 10 N:
- Open the Start Menu
- Type This PC
- Right click and select Properties
- Look under Windows edition

Once Media Pack is installed, restart your PC.

Once Media Player is installed, restart your PC.
Media Pack/Media Player is already installed!

If all of the above instructions do not work, please try the following:
1. Download the windows media creation tool. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209 |
2. Run the tool and select 'Upgrade this pc now' |
3. Select the option 'Keep all my files and apps' |
4. Then click install to update. |
Restart your PC for the changes to take effect
