What is Windows Game Mode

Windows Game Mode

Game Mode was made by Windows to 'optimize' games when they're played in full-screen. It's supposed to help your average FPS, but it's been known to have small to no improvements over FPS.

The major downside of Game Mode is that it deprioritizes any of your background tasks. That means if you are recording or streaming, expect choppy results.

We have added a toggle within the Medal UI that automatically disables Window Game Mode to increase your clip performance. Don't worry though, if you're one of the few that prefers to have Game Mode on, you can also switch the toggle off to re-enable it.
