Medal allows you to personalize your game recording settings to ensure that you capture your gaming moments exactly the way you want. Follow these detailed steps to customize your specific game recording settings on Medal.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open Medal and Navigate to Settings:

    • Launch the Medal application on your computer.
    • Click on the Cog Wheel icon in the lower-left corner to open the settings menu.
    • Select Clips & Recording from the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Custom Game Presets:

    • In the Clips & Recording section, you will see a section titled Custom Game Presets.
    • Here you can manage the settings for specific games.
  3. Add a Custom Game Setting:

    • Click the + Add a custom game setting button to create a new preset.
    • A window will pop up allowing you to select the game you want to add.
  4. Adjusting Game-Specific Settings:

    • For each game, you can toggle the recording settings:
      • Clips: Turn on or off to automatically save clips.
      • Session: Enable session recording to capture your entire gameplay session.
      • Off: Disable recording for the selected game.
    • Click Edit settings next to the game title to customize more detailed settings such as clip length, resolution, and frame rate.
  5. Remove a Game Preset:

    • To remove a game from your custom presets, simply click the Remove button next to the game title.
  6. General Recording Settings:

    • Scroll down to the General Recording section.
    • Here you can adjust the overall recording settings that apply to all games unless specified otherwise in custom presets.
  7. Capture Clips:

    • Ensure the Capture Clips toggle is turned on to save clips during your gameplay.
  8. Clipping Hotkeys:

    • Customize your clipping hotkeys for different clip lengths.
    • Click Add Hotkey to assign a new key or button for capturing clips of different lengths.
