Social account already connected to a different Medal account

Trying to connect a social account and got an error called "The authorized account is already connected to a different Medal account" like the screenshot below?



It is possible that you have already created an older Medal account using that Social account you are trying to link, that you may not remember that you had created.


No worries! To solve this, you can try Disconnecting a Social account from that older Medal account:


Disconnecting a Social account:


  • Log in on Medal using the Social account that you are trying to connect to your main Medal account.
  • Go to Medal's Settings > Connections
  • Search for the Social account and click on the little X to Disconnect it from that secondary Medal account
  • And that should be it!


You might need to set up a password if that Social account is the only way to access this secondary Medal account.


Deleting the Medal account:


You can also try deleting that secondary Medal account to remove all linked accounts from it.

Alternatively, you can start an Account Deletion process by Logging in > Going to Settings > Account > Scrolling down to the bottom > Clicking on Delete Account button on the app or on the Website. 


The Account Deletion procedure takes 2 weeks after the request is made and you will not be able to use that social account until this procedure is finished.
